Steelers: Le’Veon Bell pays tribute to former teammate Ben Roethlisberger
With Ben Roethlisberger’s NFL career about to end, former teammate Le’Veon Bell sent him an emotional message on Twitter.
For Pittsburgh Steelers fans out there, things sure are emotional right now. The scenes at Heinz Field were special on Monday night, as Ben Roethlisberger was sent off like a king. Yes, we know he hasn’t officially announced his retirement, but it’d be the shock of the century if he didn’t at this point.
In the past few days, fans, players and former teammates have been showering him with love. The long list now includes Le’Veon Bell. The two shared some memorable seasons together in Pittsburgh, and the running back took to Twitter to let everyone know how much Big Ben means to him.
Le’Veon Bell sent Ben Roethlisberger a classy tweet to honor his incredible career
This is great from Bell here. He’s still got a ton of respect for his former signal-caller and despite him currently suiting up for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and hoping to win a Super Bowl, that doesn’t mean he’s going to forget about the impact Roethlisberger had on him.
This Sunday, Roethlisberger will do everything he can to try and take down the Baltimore Ravens. Pittsburgh needs to win, the Colts to lose and the Raiders-Colts game not to end in a tie for the Steelers to grab an AFC Wild Card spot.
Unless all of that happens, then Sunday is looking like the last time we’ll ever see Roethlisberger jog out onto the field to lead out his teammates for a big game. Once the 2021 season does come to an end for Pittsburgh, it’ll only be a matter of time before an emotional Roethlisberger will hold a press conference and let everyone know that he has decided to hang up his cleats.
