Tennessee Titans linebacker Bud Dupree was charged with misdemeanor assault following an incident with a Walgreens employee.

Tennessee Titans linebacker Bud Dupree was issued a citation on Tuesday charging him with a misdemeanor assault following an altercation at a Nashville-area Walgreens.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department report, there was a verbal altercation between a group of individuals and a 20-year-old employee on Sunday night, around 8:00 p.m. CT. From there, the group left until reentering the store with Dupree, who allegedly grabbed the employee and his phone.

Bud Dupree charged with misdemeanor assault following Walgreens incident

In the citation, the exact charge is listed as “assault-fear of bodily injury.” Dupree and his attorney met with detectives on Tuesday, per the report.

The incident occurred after the Titans defeated the Miami Dolphins 34-3 on Sunday, which propelled them into first place in the AFC.

Dupree is set to report for booking in three weeks time.

Dupree spent the first six years of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. After posting 231 total tackles, 65 quarterback hits and 39.5 sacks, Dupree signed a five-year, $82.5 million deal with the Titans, coming off a torn ACL.

In 10 games this season (five starts), Dupree recorded 14 combined tackles, eight quarterback hits, three sacks and one forced fumble.

The Titans are set to play the Houston Texans this Sunday.
