Come next month, the long wait will be over to find out the new name and logo for the Washington Football Team.

For a while now, football in the nation’s capital, have been waiting to see what direction the Washington Football Team would be headed with its new name and logo.

The list of names and new logos has been whittled down and the announcement is coming soon.

Washington announced on Tuesday morning they’ll be revealing its name and logo on Feb. 2.

Washington team name and logo all set to be announced

This is something that countless people in Washington have been looking forward to. While the team is getting to wrap up another disappointing campaign later this weekend, that doesn’t mean that there’s not some excitement surrounding the team.

The new name won’t be Wolves or Red Wolves, but Joon Lee of ESPN thinks the new name may be Admirals.

Guys like Antonio Gibson and Chase Young are among the young players who are ready to try and turn things around for the organization. Washington supporters are ready for this group to start competing for NFC East titles again.

The front office is ready to make big changes as well, as the new team and logo will help put the rough past in the rearview mirror. It’s been an awful stretch in recent years for Washington both on and off the field. With head coach Ron Rivera running things, though, fans have plenty of optimism for the future.

It’ll be on the players to put on a show while out on the gridiron for Rivera and soon enough they’ll have a new name and logo to look good in as well. Feb. 2 can’t arrive soon enough.
