4. Pascal Siakam

Pascal Siakam does not have the value he had even last season, but that might be why the Knicks want to take a chance on him. He has been playing much better as of late, and he’s getting his PPG back towards 20. He’s actually helping the Raptors climb in the standings, and they are currently higher than the Knicks, sitting in the 9th place in the Eastern Conference. Is this what the Raptors want from this season, or will they look to trade off some of their best assets as they try to refigure their assets?

Siakam has double-doubles in three straight games. That includes a 20-point, 14 rebound performance against the Knicks in the first game of 2022. The Knicks clearly saw what he could do as he led the Raptors to a win.

The Knicks would be smart to try and get Siakam from the Raptors. He started off the season slow, but he’s been on fire over the past month. He averaged 22.6 points per game and 9.6 rebounds per game in December. He’s been even better in the first two games of January. This is a player who can make a major impact on a team looking for a spark.

This is more than just moving around pieces to try and get something out of this roster. Siakam is 27, and he has good years ahead of him. He does have two pretty expensive years ahead of him, making north of $30 million each of the next two seasons. If he can make the Knicks a contender, it will be worth it.
