Kirk Cousins’ vaccination claims after missing game are infuriating
After missing a must-win game for the Vikings, what Kirk Cousins is saying about not being vaccinated is infuriating for fans to hear.
The Minnesota Vikings were in primetime for Week 17 facing a must-win game for the playoff lives and going up against their biggest division rival in the Packers. The stakes couldn’t have been higher in the regular season. And yet, Kirk Cousins wasn’t able to take the field.
Minnesota’s much-maligned quarterback tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday before the Sunday Night Football game. Even with the NFL’s latest policies and protocols concerning the virus, as an unvaccinated player, Cousins was immediately ruled out for the game that was just two days away.
Speaking about that on Tuesday, however, Cousins said that him being vaccinated wouldn’t have mattered because he would’ve tested positive regardless.
While that sounds great for the quarterback’s narrative, it’s also not true.
Vikings: Kirk Cousins says vaccine wouldn’t have made a difference, which is flat-out false
Anyone who took a handful of seconds to look at what Kirk Cousins is claiming here could point it out as false — and they wouldn’t even have to look past the Vikings to do it!
Monday after the brutal loss to Green Bay with Cousins on the sidelines, vaccinated offensive tackle Brian O’Neill was put on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. He was then activated on Wednesday, which, as fate would have it, is a two-day turnaround.
Now, it’s worth noting that we don’t know if O’Neill tested positive for the virus or not. However, it is a sign that the Vikings quarterback is just trying to save face after all but costing his team a crucial game late in the season because of his vaccination decision.
Regardless of whether or not you’re pro or anti-vaccine, the fact of the matter is that Kirk Cousins is just flat-out wrong in what he’s saying while trying to make himself look blameless. But rest assured, there is blame to put squarely on the quarterback’s shoulders.
