Tyler Herro and Jusuf Nurkic almost come to blows after crushing screen
Tyler Herro and Jusuf Nurkic had to be separated on Wednesday night as tempers nearly boiled over the top on the hardwood.
The Miami Heat ended up getting a win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night, but fans were most definitely treated to some extra fireworks in the middle of the action. That’s because Tyler Herro and Jusuf Nurkic nearly went to blows? You’ve got that straight.
Nurkic laid quite the screen on Herro, sending the smaller player down to the hardwood. Herro understandably wasn’t too happy with the play, so he decided to get on his feet, run after Nurkic and shove the Portland big man. Then, all heck broke loose.
Tyler Herro was furious with Jusuf Nurkic in the Heat vs. Blazers game
This was quite the scene and NBA fans are still talking about how this went down. For those of you wondering, yes, Nurkic has quite the size advantage over Herro. The Trail Blazers stud checks in at 6-foot-11, 290 pounds. As for Herro, he’s 6-foot-5, 195 pounds. We’re talking about six inches and 95 pounds here.
Despite Nurkic towering over Herro, the Miami sharpshooter wasn’t happy whatsoever with how Nurkic leveled him and he had to remind him that he wasn’t going to back down from anyone. Herro put plenty of force behind his shove, sending a message to his new enemy.
In the end, Miami was able to get the last laugh, as they left the arena with a 115-109 win. Herro, who is averaging more than 20 points per game this season, finished the night with 16 points in 36 minutes of action. The biggest takeaway from this win for him was the drama with Nurkic. These two clearly don’t like each other and the next Miami/Portland showdown will surely be interesting.
