Antonio Brown was not handed a punishment by the NFL for leaving in middle of Tampa Bay Buccaneers-New York Jets game.

Week 17 of the 2021 NFL season will go down as the wildest in recent memory, mostly due to Antonio Brown. After a disagreement with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coaching staff, the wide receiver stormed off the field shirtless in the middle of the team’s game against the New York Jets. That ultimately led to Brown’s release days later.

Brown may have been cut by the Bucs, but he is not being punished by the league. NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport tweeted out on Saturday that Brown was not fined for taking off his jersey, helmet, shirt and gloves and walking off the field.

Days after the incident, Brown released a statement saying that he was dealing with a bad ankle injury and that he was too hurt to play in the game in question, despite being cleared by the team.

On Thursday, Brown released text messages allegedly from Arians and Tom Brady’s personal trainer Alex Guerrero, and posted them on social media. Shortly thereafter, the Buccaneers released a statement saying that they have officially released Brown from his contract and dismissed his injury claims.

Since his release, there have been claims that Brown violated COVID-19 protocols by sneaking a woman into the team’s hotel. Then, the wide receiver went on the Full Send Podcast and it featured a ton of talking points, including Brown taking a shot at quarterback Tom Brady.

Even though Brown is no longer with the Buccaneers, he will not face a fine for ripping off his shirt and gloves and throwing them into the stands of MetLife Stadium.
