Michigan message board has hilariously bad backup plans if Jim Harbaugh leaves
By Scott Rogust
If the reports are true and Jim Harbaugh were to leave for the NFL, the Michigan Wolverines message boards have some wild replacement options.
Just when college football fans they had a break in the head coaching carousel, Jim Harbaugh has now entered the spotlight. After taking the Michigan Wolverines to the College Football Playoff Semifinals, The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman reported this week that Harbaugh might consider making the jump back to the NFL.
Michigan fans are now left wondering what is to happen with the football program if Harbaugh were to leave. Some users on Michigan message boards have listed some potential replacement candidates for Harbaugh, and there are some wild ones, such as Brady Hoke and…Bill Belichick?

Even if the Wolverines were to offer $20 million a year, it is highly doubtful that Belichick were to ever leave the New England Patriots.
Harbaugh is coming off his most successful year as Michigan head coach. After restructuring his contract with heavy incentives, the Wolverines defeated the Ohio State Buckeyes for the first time since 2011 and won their first Big Ten Championship Game by blowing out the Iowa Hawkeyes, helping them clinch the No. 2 seed in the Playoff. But, the magic ran out in the Orange Bowl, as they were defeated 34-11 by the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs.
If there were ever a time to make a jump to the NFL, it appears to be now. Feldman mentions two teams in his report that could be enticing for Harbaugh — the Las Vegas Raiders and Chicago Bears. Harbaugh began his coaching career with the Raiders in 2002 as their quarterbacks coach. Meanwhile, the former Michigan quarterback was the former first-round pick by the Bears in the 1987 NFL Draft.
Additional reports indicated that Harbaugh has told recruits that he will “entertain” NFL offers.
All Michigan fans can do for the time being is wait for an official report or an announcement from Harbaugh hiself regarding whether he will remain at Ann Arbor, or make a return to the NFL.
