An airline pilot threatens to turn the plane around if Alabama and Georgia fans don’t behave.

With droves of Alabama and Georgia fans making their way up to Indianapolis for the national championship game, an airline pilot had a little fun at their fanbases’ expense.

In a crowd of mostly Georgia fans, Jeff Schultz of The Athletic tweeted out what the pilot said. “The will be no fighting. If there is, I’m going to land this plane at Auburn or Georgia Tech.”

While Auburn and Georgia Tech are the teams’ respective in-state rivals, the Auburn would have sufficed, as Alabama and Georgia can’t stand Auburn. More importantly, Georgia Tech is in Atlanta. Duh!

So this pilot was either threatening to fly to essentially Greater Columbus or stay put if Dawgs and Crimson Tide fans didn’t behave themselves. When it just means more, it just means more.

Airline pilot trolls Alabama, Georgia fans on the way to Indianapolis

Can you imagine being presumably a Delta pilot going from Hartsfield-Jackson to Indianapolis International on the finest of early January Sunday mornings? That pilot would see a sea of Red and Black, and Crimson. Some would be inebriated and others on their way towards getting there. Most importantly, the winter coat and footwear situation might be nothing short of pure comedy.

But as a southerner who had to get a new coat and boots during my three-year run in Chicagoland, I can tell you these people will take over Indianapolis unlike anything this side of the NFL Scouting Combine. Imagine the Indiana Pacers going to the NBA Finals, but instead of it being in June, it is in early January. In 24 hours, one fanbase will be elated. The other will be so miserable.

For those on that flight who were not Indy-bound for the College Football Playoff, what a ride!
