John Elway needs to get these perfect Vic Fangio replacements on the phone right now
With the news breaking that Vic Fangio has been fired by the Denver Broncos, here’s a look at three potential replacements for the AFC West team.
Just like that, the Denver Broncos are in need of a new head coach. After losing to the Kansas City Chiefs to close out the season on Saturday, the front office let Vic Fangio know on Sunday that he’s been fired.
This was expected, as Fangio has been on the hot seat for quite some time. Now, the Broncos can’t waste any time in finding a suitable replacement. In this piece, we take a look at three guys they must reach out to immediately. The list of course includes Dallas defensive coordinator Dan Quinn.
3. Dan Quinn
Quinn is currently getting ready to try and go on a deep postseason run with the Dallas Cowboys, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t being looked at for multiple jobs. His name has been linked with the Jaguars, Raiders and of course the Broncos.
Quinn is best known for his more than fives seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, which was highlighted by the trip to the Super Bowl to face the New England Patriots. While the team blew a 28-3 lead, which Falcons fans haven’t forgotten about, Quinn did remarkable things with the team.
He was fired in the middle of the 2020 season by Atlanta, but what he’s been able to do with the Cowboys this season has been great to see. The Dallas defense has really improve, with rookie linebacker Micah Parsons being a virtual lock to win Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Over the coming weeks, Quinn is without question going to be a popular coaching candidate. With Denver letting Fangio go on Sunday, it’d be smart for Denver to reach out and try and schedule an interview for as soon as possible.
