Look: Dick’s Sporting Goods prematurely crowned Georgia national champions
By Ethan Lee
Dick’s Sporting Goods got a little too eager to advertise some championship merch and now their Georgia football championship ad is going viral.
College football fans love celebrating big wins and commemorating accomplishments and championships with merchandise. Apparel companies and retailers are more than aware of the tendency for folks to buy up a ton of shirts and hats and decals after their favorite team does something good.
So, these companies will prepare for all possible outcomes. A lot of merchandise and advertisements for said merchandise will be made ahead of time.
Unfortuantely for Dick’s Sporting Goods, at least one of those ads celebrating a championship the Georgia Bulldogs haven’t won (at least not yet) made its way to Twitter well before it should have. The ad went live during the game.
And of course, a screenshot was taken.
And apparently you can already pick up a sweet replica championship football that celebrates a national title the Bulldogs definitely haven’t won yet.
But, because the folks at Dick’s Sporting Goods think the Bulldogs have won, you can get free shipping! What a bargain!

Dick’s Sporting Goods is just trying to sell some shirts and hats and stuff. They just happened to get their scheduling for when certain things should be published wrong. Everyone makes mistakes, but this is a pretty notable one.
The mistake will only get more notable if Alabama finds a way to take control of this game and beat the Bulldogs.
