Taj Harris has two years of eligibility remaining and has serious SEC interest

Georgia probably needs to add a wide receiver in the portal above all else. While that could change after spring practice, this is where the Dawgs can potentially get better before the semester really gets underway. One player of note who has been in the portal for a while is Taj Harris. The former Syracuse wide receiver hit the portal in October and briefly was committed to play at Kentucky.

Harris hails from New Jersey, but could be making his way southward on his next team. Though he had been committed to Mark Stoops’ team for a month, there is a chance he could go to their cross-divisional rival Mississippi State and catch a ton of balls in Mike Leach’s Air Raid. Conversely, he could go to the defending national champions and get better by going up against the very best.

Kobe Hudson could leave cross-divisional rival Auburn to come play for Georgia

Kobe Hudson is a very recent addition to the transfer portal. The LaGrange, Georgia native grew up in part of the state where the colors blue between Red and Black and Orange and Blue. He played in 2020 for Gus Malzahn and for Bryan Harsin this past year. With so much upheaval going down on The Plains, it might serve Hudson to go play for the flagship university of his home state.

Though it never is a good look to switch allegiances in this rivalry, players more often than not go from Georgia to Auburn than the other way around. With George Pickens potentially turning pro after his true junior season, Georgia may need a piece to come right in and help the receiving corps. Given that he already plays in the SEC, Hudson’s transition to Georgia would be seamless.

Look for Georgia to potentially kick the tires on Dart, Harris and Hudson in the transfer portal.
