Former Oregon star Kayvon Thibodeaux cites an Alabama education as a reason he went to Oregon.
While FOX was having its watch party during the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, superstar pass-rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux explained why he went to Oregon over Alabama: Education and branding.
In a conversation with Fox Sportsā Joel Klatt, Thibodeaux did everything in his power to have all of Alabama Twitter turn on him in an instant.
Clearly, not knowing the difference between stigma and astigmatism, Thibodeaux removed all doubt by falling into the same cliched stereotype that the University of Alabama is a bad school. It is not, and this tired narrative needs to go away.
Thibodeaux is a projected top-two pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. While this comment will not hurt his draft stock, does he realize half of the NFL is Bama Built?

Klatt took a lot of heat for not pushing back on Thibodeaux during the interview and apologized for it on Twitter.
No excusesā¦shouldāve pushed back! Fact is a University of Alabama education is very good

While people outside of the south lazily criticize schools like Alabama for what they used to be, the University of Alabama has a great business school, journalism department and law school, among many other things.
Having NIck Saban at the helm has done an incalculable amount of good for the university. It is more than a place to spend three years playing football while collecting Nike swag.
People from all over the world want to attend this university for more than just football games.
