DeSean Jackson, WR

The Raiders are going to need to address the wide receiver position this offseason. There are two pass-catchers set to be free agents — DeSean Jackson and Zay Jones. Given the breakout season that Jones has had, it would not be shocking to see Jackson one-and-done in Las Vegas.

Jackson joined the Raiders after he was released by the Los Angeles Rams (after failing to find a trade partner for him at the deadline). Who could forget his first game with the Raiders? Besides that, the veteran was not much of a factor in the offense.

In nine regular-season appearances (four starts), Jackson caught 12-of-19 targets for 233 yards and one touchdown.

Expect the Raiders to go in another direction, whether that is free agency (Davante Adams?) or the NFL Draft.

Marcus Mariota, QB

The 2022 quarterback class in free agency is far from the strongest, but that does not mean that teams will be signing signal-callers left and right. One quarterback that could be on the move is Marcus Mariota.

The former second-overall pick signed a two-year deal with Las Vegas as a contingency plan for Carr. Mariota dealt with injuries and ultimately played in one full game after Carr picked up an injury early in a 2020 game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Mariota showed in that game that he still has plenty left in the tank, whether that is throwing the ball or running with it.

Much like when the Raiders signed him, there is going to be a team looking at Mariota as a potential backup plan for their current starting quarterback. In that case, it may spell the end of Mariota’s time in Las Vegas. Unless, of course, the franchise decides to part ways with Derek Carr.
