Ezekiel Elliott

Ezekiel Elliott is a talented running back. Unfortunately for everyone involved, Elliott is also on a hefty contract that contributes to the overall difficult situation of managing a roster with multiple hefty contracts.

While it’s clear that Elliott isn’t the reason Dallas lost against the 49ers, it’s also clear that he didn’t exactly do much to put the Cowboys in a position to beat San Francisco. On just 12 carries, Elliott gained 31 yards.

And that’s about all he did.

Elliott is talented and is generally well liked by folks in Dallas. It’s not like people are enthusiastic about wanting him off the Cowboys, but it might be necessary for Dallas to work around all of the hefty contracts it has to try and manage. Moving Elliott is the tricky part due to how inconsistent he’s been and how much he’s being paid, but the Cowboys should try to do it and maybe get a draft pick in return.
