NFL Twitter was not too kind to Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger after his performance in the first half against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Ben Roethlisberger had what was a potential storybook send off last week when the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Baltimore Ravens in overtime. But due to Indianapolis Colts’ loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Las Vegas Raiders’ win over the Los Angeles Chargers, the Steelers clinched a playoff berth. That gave Roethlisberger at least one more game to play this season, but it came against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Anyone expecting Roethlisberger having some magic in the Wild Card Round were shown otherwise, as the former 2004 first-round pick went 5-for-14 on his throws for a total of 24 yards, as they trailed 21-7 at halftime.
NFL Twitter was, well, ruthless, to Roethlisberger over his performance in the first half.
look im sorry. i am.

but the steelers winning and forcing big ben to keep playing when he very obviously does not want to is a hilarious outcome.
Big Ben looked worse than any end of career QB in a playoff game I've seen in that first half. Dan Marino. Drew Brees. Peyton Manning. Philip Rivers. That was painful.

Going to need a 41-0 2nd Half to give Big Ben the “Full Marino” send off we discussed, so it’s unlikely but still possible. #BetterThanABye pic.twitter.com/mDokNFFXeY

if anyone signs big ben this offseason they should be forced to forfeit their games

Ben Roethlisberger roasted on Twitter for bad first-half performance vs. Chiefs
Once the first quarter ended, it certainly looked like the Steelers had a chance at pulling off the upset of all upsets, as both teams were scoreless. Pittsburgh even got on the board first after the linebacker scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery, giving them a 7-0 lead.
That lead disappeared, as the Chiefs reawakened, specifically on offense. Kansas City scored three touchdowns in a little over five minutes in the first half, all of them coming on throws from star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Once the playoffs are over for the Steelers, they will be in search of their new franchise quarterback to succeed Roethlisberger.
