Baylor’s two losses dropped them from the top spot in this week’s college basketball rankings. Will Gonzaga or Auburn rise to the top?

The buzzword around college basketball this season has become parity since we haven’t had a dominant team all year long. Unlike the 2020-21 campaign, where it became evident early on that either Gonzaga or Baylor would win the national championship, this season has seen plenty of turnover atop the polls.

Baylor became the first team ever ranked at the top of the AP poll to lose a pair of home games in the same week, leading to a steady tumble down this week’s college basketball rankings. Who rose to succeed the Bears at the top? Read on to find out, but first, we’ll take a look at the honorable mentions who fell just shy of the Top 10.

Week 11 College Basketball Rankings: Honorable Mentions

Kentucky, LSU, Michigan State, Iowa State, Texas Tech

The Spartans and Tigers were in the Top 10 last week but fell out after losing home games to unranked foes. Iowa State would have been back inside the Top 10 if they could have beaten Kansas but they will have to settle for remaining in this portion of the list for now.

Kentucky was a clear 11th in this grouping after a dominant performance against Tennessee but their recent loss to LSU was a limiting factor. Texas Tech is our newest entrant in here after an impressive pair of victories against Kansas and Baylor, but losing at one of the Big 12’s least-talented teams in Kansas State bars entry to the Top 10.
