2022 NFL Mock Draft: 2 quarterbacks go in top 10

2022 NFL Mock Draft: Playoffs continue to shape first round
Picks No. 7 through 10
With both the Chicago Bears and New York Giants being two of the worst teams in the NFL this season, the Giants will hold two of the first seven picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. Getting this pick from the Bears was one of the few things Dave Gettleman did right during his time as the general manager of this franchise.
Holding pick No. 7, the Giants bring in talent on the defensive side of the ball, adding a punishing linebacker in Georgia’s Nakobe Dean. While Dean may not have the perfect size for an NFL linebacker, he is a three-down player, and should help them against the run and the pass moving forward.
For a time this season, it looked like the Atlanta Falcons would be a playoff team, thanks to the play of veteran quarterback Matt Ryan. While rumors are flying that Ryan could be gone after this season, it would make sense for Atlanta to bring him back, as there are not many upgrades out there this offseason.
Instead of going quarterback here at No. 8 overall, the Falcons decide to bring in an edge rusher, adding Purdue star George Karlaftis. This is a player with great twitch, can beat offensive tackles easily, and has enough power to bulrush if need be.
The Denver Broncos went into the preseason with a quarterback battle on their hands, and as the old saying goes, if you think you have two quarterbacks, you really do not have one. Teddy Bridgewater ended up being the starter, and had his moments, but was injured late in the year and had to turn the franchise over to Drew Lock.
If there is one thing Lock has proven during his NFL career it is that he is not a starting quarterback, and the Broncos may want to get a new franchise signal-caller in this draft. A new head coach is going to want his guy under center, and at pick No. 9 overall, he should be able to get Ole Miss star Matt Corral to be his future at the position.
The top-10 picks in the 2022 NFL Draft will be rounded out by the New York Jets, who make their second pick of the first round here at No. 10 overall. For the Jets, there are a number of different ways they can go with this selection, but one thing is for sure, they need to address the offensive line.
Many mock drafts have Evan Neal going way higher than No. 10 overall, but if the first round falls the way it does in this mock, he would be available. To be able to match him up with Mekhi Becton at the tackle spots, and after what we saw from guard Alijah Vera-Tucker this season, Zach Wilson would have an excellent young group in front of him next year.
