Antonio Brown: ‘A couple teams’ have checked in since Bucs release

Antonio Brown revealed a few NFL teams have checked in on him since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers released him.
Weeks after the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers released Antonio Brown, the talented, but mercurial wide receiver revealed that “a couple teams” have checked in on him.
“I’m a football player, man. I’m a professional athlete. Let’s not get that twisted. That’s my main thing … A couple teams called,” said Brown to Brad Callas of Complex.com.
An injured ankle and a public on-field tirade at MetLife Stadium for all the NFL world to see ultimately led to Brown’s release. Tampa Bay is now the fourth NFL team Brown burnt a bridge with on the way out. Despite alienating an eighth of the league, Brown’s talent will keep giving him opportunities he probably should not deserve. His professional career may not be completely over.
The question is what team would want to bring a player this incredibly toxic into their locker room.

Brown just completed his 12th NFL season out of Central Michigan. Despite being a former sixth-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers, Brown has the numbers and the individual accolades to merit Canton enshrinement. Unfortunately, he has done seemingly everything in his power to embarrass teammates and make it incredibly difficult for hall-of-fame voters to give him the nod.
As for if Brown has played his last NFL snap, he will be 34 years old next season. While he can still clearly make plays on the football field, Brown is not the same player he once was in Pittsburgh. He has appeared in 16 combined games with the Buccaneers and the New England Patriots over the last three regular seasons. The best ability is availability and he simply no longer offers that.
If any team plans to bring in Brown next season, do not be shocked if it blows up in their face.
