Clippers locker room is pandemonium after 35-point comeback win

After an enthralling 35-point comeback, the Los Angeles Clippers celebrate the unexpected win over the Washington Wizards with plenty of dunking. 

Clippers guard Luke Kennard hit a three-point buzzer-beater as the home crowd went wild. Drawing a foul, the Clippers ended their Jan. 25 game against the Wizards 116-115, the victory going to the underestimated underdog.

When the Clippers players got back to the locker room, they dunked on Kennard for making the game-winner. Teammates cheered as they poured water bottles over his head, saving a little for their head coach, Tyronn Lue.

“Not me!” Lue yelled as his thankful team poured water on their coach’s head.

The team ended their celebration on one word: “Together.”

As impressive as the night was for the present team, their 35-point comeback also makes history. It turns out to be the largest comeback in Clippers history, and one of the biggest comebacks in NBA history.

At the end of the second quarter, the Clippers only had 36 points to rival the Wizards’ 66 points.

The Los Angeles team went on to score 40 points in each of the remaining quarters, with spectacular performances by Amir Coffey, Isaiah Hartenstein, and Kennard, who scored seven points in the final nine seconds.

Even Kennard was in disbelief over what his team just accomplished.

Like their Los Angeles counterpart, the Clippers have had a mediocre season, with a 24-25 record. they rank just behind the Lakers with one additional loss, and at No. 9 in the Western Conference, the Clippers are still potentially in playoff contention, even without their notable absence of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

That’s what makes the Clippers’ comeback and togetherness so incredible: they remind the world that once again, NBA teams don’t always need superstars, but they do always need chemistry.
