Former LSU head coach Les Miles couldn’t have been more wrong about his recruitment of Ja’Marr Chase out of high school.
Cincinnati Bengals fans must be thanking their lucky stars that Ja’Marr Chase and his family didn’t listen to Les Miles back when he was still in high school. An elite wide receiver, Miles was trying to get Chase to make plays for him at cornerback.
Seriously? Chase didn’t listen but still ended up signing with LSU. There, Chase went on to win a National Championship and he ended up becoming a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Yup, Miles couldn’t have been more wrong here.
What's something that motivated Ja'Marr Chase to be the player he is today? "Les Miles told me I couldn’t play receiver when I was coming out of high school..." @WLWT #Bengals #LSU pic.twitter.com/e5699LnoE6

LSU football: Ja’Marr Chase proved Les Miles wrong
While you never know what might have happened, the world would have been robbed of Chase’s electric ways catching the ball.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder has been nothing short of incredible in his rookie campaign with Cincinnati. During the regular season, Chase caught 81 balls from Joe Burrow for 1,455 yards and 13 touchdowns. With Chase and Burrow playing so well, the Bengals have recorded back-to-back postseason wins and they’re all set to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.
In order for the Bengals to record an upset, they’ll surely need Burrow to find Chase early and often. This kid is the real deal, and Miles thankfully didn’t get his way.
