USC football fans believe Caleb Williams already enrolled, coming to Trojans
USC football fans did some digging in the Trojans student directory and are convinced Caleb Williams has already enrolled.
Caleb Williams either will or won’t transfer to USC. Whatever happens, the college football world will find out one way or another once Friday, the deadline to enroll for the spring semester, comes and goes.
Trojan fans aren’t interested in waiting that long though. Many are convinced Williams is already enrolled at USC. And they have some proof.
Internet sleuths on USC message boards have been searching the student directory for weeks trying to find a “Caleb Williams” and on Wednesday one apparently showed up.
USC football: Is Caleb Williams already enrolled and joining the Trojans?
It’s possible some other human being named Caleb Williams, not one who used to play quarterback for Oklahoma, just enrolled at USC. Or perhaps someone is playing an elaborate trick.
It could even be a misunderstanding of logistics. The email could have been reserved the same way a professional sports team might pick up possible website URLs and Twitter usernames before deciding their new mascot. With Williams waiting so long to make a decision, the window to get him enrolled in classes will be tight. Legwork could get done before the Trojans even have an answer.
All that is to say that nothing has changed. Williams still hasn’t announced where he is going to play next, which means no one truly knows where the quarterback will land.
Wisconsin fans have created flowcharts to explain why they could convince Williams to come. LSU is supposedly in the running.
The waiting game will continue regardless of what kind of digital footprint appears.
