Watch as two fans are ejected after an altercation with Carmelo Anthony.
On Thursday night the Lakers were facing the Philadelphia 76ers but it wasn’t the game that got fans riled up. Instead, it was a mid-game shouting match between unruly fans and Lakers forward Carmelo Anthony.

The fans were eventually ejected from the stands and the League explained exactly what was going on.
According to Yahoo Sports, the fans were yelling “boy” at Anthony which has racial connotations.
Sixers fan that was ejected for taunting Los Angeles Lakers star Carmelo Anthony kept calling him a “boy” and yelling “get in the corner boy” and “keeping shooting boy,” league sources tell @YahooSports.

Fans ejected after altercation with Carmelo Anthony
After the game, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel spoke on the incident, saying that it was “unacceptable language and unacceptable behavior” by the fans and that there “needs to be a higher standard.” The full quote can be viewed below, courtesy of The Athletic’s Bill Oram.

76ers star Joel Embiid, who was trying to calm Anthony down during the altercation, told reporters after the game that he did not know what happened between the Lakers forward and the fan.

The Lakers lost to the 76ers 105-87.
On Friday, Jan. 28, the 76ers reached out to multiple news outlets to announce that after an investigation, the fan who made the comments is banned indefinitely from the team’s games and future events at the Wells Fargo Center.
