Brandon Brooks takes out full-page ad in paper to thank Eagles fans after retirement
In a truly classy move, former Philadelphia Eagles right guard Brandon Brooks took out a full-page ad to thank his fans for showing him so much love over the years.
After spending the past six years with the Philadelphia Eagles, superstar guard Brandon Brooks has decided to hang up his cleats. On Wednesday, Brooks announced his retirement after 10 NFL seasons.
On Thursday, Brooks pulled quite the move, taking out a full-page ad in the Philadelphia Inquirer to thank everyone in the city for treating him like family since 2016.
Brandon Brooks thanked the Eagles faithful for being the best fans in the world
In his ad, Brooks called the good folks in Philadelphia the greatest fans in the world. Few can argue the people in that city showcase an unreal amount of passion for their teams, which Brooks was able to see up close and personal.
After spending the first four years of his career with the Houston Texans, Brooks was with the Eagles from 2016 to 2021 where he was a three-time Pro Bowler. Brooks has a Super Bowl ring to his name too after Philadelphia beat New England in February of 2018.
While Brooks has plenty of great memories with the team, the past two seasons sure have been rough for him. In June of 2020, he suffered a torn Achilles and was out for the year. Then this past campaign, he suffered a pectoral strain in Week 2 and was placed on Injured Reserve.
The injuries started piling up for him, which is what led him to retire. Despite that, Brooks can proudly call himself a Super Bowl champ and he’ll always have a huge amount of love for Philadelphia and all of the team’s fans.
