So…remember that report about Tom Brady retiring? What if I told you he had yet to make up his mind? Please don’t be mad.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Jeff Darlington reported that Tom Brady will retire from the NFL after 22 seasons. Just a few hours later, that report appears to have been a little premature.

This could be classic Brady, ever wanting to control his own media narrative. But Schefter and Darlington are two of the most respected reporters in the business (well, for now). For them to simply misinform the public about Brady’s retirement doesn’t feel entirely like them.

So, let’s put down the torches for now, Patriots and Bucs fans.

Odds are, there was a miscommunication in said reporting, or perhaps after 22 years of GOAT-level play, Brady wanted to retire on his own terms.

Leave it to Mina to knock some sense into all of us.

Tom Brady not retiring

Brady isn’t retiring just yet, as has been reported by many publications, including ESPN!

Even ESPN’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers reporter has stated that as of now, there is no indication that Brady is ready to announce his retirement.

Tom Brady hasn’t informed the Bucs that he’s retiring, Laine reported.

Head coach Bruce Arians followed that up with a quote of his own, per Laine: “He hasn’t. Not even close to making up his mind yet. He told us.”

Brady even called Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht to tell him he was still pondering his NFL future.

Tom Brady Sr.: Brady yet to decide

Brady’s father, Tom Brady Sr., stated that his son has yet to decide whether or not his NFL career is over.

“This story Mike is total conjecture. Tommy has not made a final decision one way or the other and anybody else that says that he has is absolutely wrong,” Brady Sr. said, per Mike Girardi of NFL Network.

So, there you have it. We’re going to take the wait and see approach, for now.
