Ole Miss lands former USC quarterback Jaxson Dart in the transfer portal to replace Matt Corral as the focal point of Lane Kiffin’s offense.
Former USC Trojans quarterback Jaxson Dart is hopping aboard the Lane Train to Oxford to potentially replace Matt Corral as the Ole Miss Rebels starting quarterback.
This may be all about Lane Kiffin’s elaborate ploy to land Dart’s younger brother Diesel to break the internet behind repair after we reassemble it after the ongoing Tom Brady retirement saga ends. For now, Dart heads to Oxford to compete with Luke Altmyer for the vacant Rebels starting job with Corral having turned pro. This is a transfer that should have Ole Miss fans very excited.
By landing Dart in the portal, Ole Miss can contend for a New Year’s Six bowl again and stick in the top 25 going forward.

Ole Miss: Former USC QB Jaxson Dart commits to Rebels, replace Matt Corral
Dart hails from Draper, Utah. While he was being courted by Oklahoma and BYU in the transfer portal, he goes to a team where he can come in and compete for playing time right away. Even more importantly, he gets to hand the ball off to an absolute beast in former five-star recruit and TCU running back Zach Evans. Ole Miss did a great job of reloading after last season’s success.
As far as what to expect out of the Rebels next season, they may contend with the likes of Texas A&M for the second best team in the SEC West. One would think Auburn and LSU will be better, but Arkansas remains strong and Mississippi State is very competitive. Once again, Alabama is the creme de la creme atop the very best division in all of college football. Ole Miss should be good.
If Dart can come in and win the job in fall camp, Ole Miss can win upwards of 10 games again.
