Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jeff Garcia hung up on a Bay Area radio station when being pressed on his comments about ESPNās Mina Kimes.
Jeff Garcia lost it when he was asked about what went down between he and Mina Kimes.
The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback appeared on 95.7 The Game to discuss the upcoming NFC Championship Game vs. the Los Angeles Rams. Of course, the former Pro Bowl signal-caller had to know he would be asked about his disparaging comments about the ESPN football analyst while trying to defend current 49ers starter Jimmy Garoppolo. It was a bad look.
Here is the latest example of someone who doesnāt get that they donāt get it. How embarrassing.
Jeff Garcia blows gasket, hangs up on Bay Area radio over Mina Kimes comments
While everyone coming to Kimesā defense was a bit over the top, as she is a professional and a grown woman who can clearly handle this, fewer and fewer people can be in Garciaās camp after this. Going with the old redundant cliche of āoh, you never played footballā is so ridiculously tired. Football is a domestic juggernaut and an increasingly international sport that everyone can enjoy.
Though the 49ers have won six games in a row over the rival Rams, this third matchup of the year is for the right to go to the Super Bowl. While Garoppolo has been indisputably the weakest of the four remaining starting quarterbacks, the 49ers stink when he is not under center. They do not win games without him. He may not be a magician under center, but he does lead a winning offense.
While Garcia has the right to disagree with Kimesā take on Garoppolo, he should have known better than going with the āoh, you never playedā approach to try to discredit all the hard work she and the rest of the media have done covering the sport to make us as fans can this much about it. So much has changed since Garcia last played in the league, but he wants to hold onto the past.
The winner of 49ers vs. Rams, part three will face the winner of the Cincinnati Bengals vs. Kansas City Chiefs, part two at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California in two weeks for Super Bowl 56.
