Ronda Rousey made her long anticipated return at the 2022 WWE Royal Rumble and Twitter went crazy.

In the days leading up to the 2022 Royal Rumble event, there were reports indicating that WWE was making a push to bring back former RAW Women’s Champion and UFC fighter Ronda Rousey. Of course, all eyes were on the 30-woman Royal Rumble match for her to make a return.

Once the buzzer struck zero for the No. 28 entrant, Joan Jett’s hit song “Bad Reputation” hit and Rousey emerged from backstage, causing the crowd at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Mo. to lose their minds. The same could be said for those watching the event from home.

Rousey eliminated multiple competitors in the match and made it to the final four. After Charlotte Flair eliminated both Bianca Belair and Shayna Baszler, Rousey threw her out of the ring to win the match. As a result, Rousey earns a main event championship match at WrestleMania 38.

This is the first time that Rousey appeared in a WWE ring since the main event of WrestleMania 35, where she lost to Becky Lynch in a winner-take-all championship match that also included Flair.

Now, all eyes will be on who Rousey chooses to face at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the plan is for Rousey to face off against Flair at WrestleMania.

Regardless of what WWE decides to do, Rousey is back in WWE and she is slated for a championship match at the “Grandest Stage of Them All.”
