25 best NFL running backs of the 21st century
A second-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, LeSean McCoy started his NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles, a team he would set numerous records with. McCoy played in Philadelphia from 2009 through the 2014 NFL seasons, being named a first-team All-Pro in both 2011 and 2013.
During the 2011 season, he led the NFL in rushing touchdowns, and two years later, he led the NFL in rushing yards. A six-time Pro Bowler, McCoy was named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 2010s, as he put together six 1,000-yard seasons during his time with the Eagles and the Buffalo Bills.
One of the more shifty running backs of the 21st century, McCoy would go on to rack up over 11,000 rushing yards, while finding the end zone 73 times. He also hauled in over 500 passes across his 12-year career, proving to be one of those rare backs who can hurt you in both the run and passing game.
McCoy capped off his career by winning two Super Bowl rings, though he did not play in the game. He was a member of the Kansas City Chiefs team that won it after the 2019 NFL season and would beat those Chiefs as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a year later.
