Andy Reid wanted a potential Joe Mixon fumble reviewed before what would become the Bengals game-winning field goal. He was ignored.

Mixon may not have been touched down by contact on what was a relatively massive run at the time, as it put the Bengals near field goal range. While Chiefs coach Andy Reid wanted the play reviewed, the CBS broadcast booth (and evidently the officials) thought he wanted an uncalled illegal formation penalty overturned, which cannot be reviewed in the first place.

Instead, Reid thought Mixon might’ve fumbled, as he dropped the ball potentially before he was touched on the play below:

You be the judge, did the refs get it wrong?

Andy Reid, Chiefs might’ve been robbed in overtime

Was Mixon touched on the play by a Chiefs defender? That much is unknown at this time, as the vague video above is the only angle we have available at our disposal.

However, the fact the officials either didn’t have time or refused to look at the play altogether is inept to the highest degree. This is the AFC Championship. The winner goes to the Super Bowl.

To rob Patrick Mahomes, Reid and the Chiefs of a potential turnover in a large moment cannot be allowed. Period.
