How many times have the Chiefs been to the Super Bowl?

The Kansas City Chiefs are hoping to get back to the Super Bowl, but first, they’ll need to take down the Bengals on Sunday. 

Following their unreal win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs are one step closer to getting back to the Super Bowl. The Chiefs, who won it all two years ago, are trying to get over the upset loss to Tom Brady and the Bucs last February.

Could the Chiefs be going to the Super Bowl for the third straight season? If the team does capture the Lombardi Trophy, it will be the third championship season for this squad. But, how many times have the Chiefs made it to the big game?

The Chiefs are hoping to reach the Super Bowl for the 4th time in team history

As things stand, the Chiefs have been to the Super Bowl three times. Before these back-to-back trips, Kansas City last made it all the way back in 1970. That year, the team took down the Minnesota Vikings, 23-7. Then in 2020, KC made it back for the first time in 50 years.

The Chiefs were able to beat the San Francisco 49ers in that contest. Then last year, the team did lose to Brady and Tampa Bay, but now the fanbase has high hopes for this group to get the job done this time around.

Should the Chiefs beat the Bengals in the AFC Championship Game, it’d mark their fourth trip to the Super Bowl. Then, Andy Reid and the Chiefs will also hope to win the third title in franchise history. Patrick Mahomes is fired up to have that dream become a reality. We very well could see another parade coming to the city in the near future.
