30 Best NFL QB-WR duos in the modern era
No. 15: Kurt Warner and Torry Holt
The St. Louis Rams were a sight to see when Kurt Warner was their starting quarterback, making it to two Super Bowls on the strength of an offense that was as prolific as we had seen in quite some time. Dubbed the “Greatest Show on Turf,” Warner teamed with two elite wideouts in Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce, while also having a Hall of Fame running back in Marshall Faulk.
For our No. 15 QB-WR duo, we take a look at what Holt and Warner were able to do, as they had a run that was second to none. From 1999 through the 2001 season, this tandem tore up NFL defenses, with Holt leading the NFL in receiving yards in both the 2000 and 2001 seasons, which came on the heels of the team winning Super Bowl XXXIV after the 1999 campaign.
In ten seasons with the Rams, Holt made the Pro Bowl seven times, and he was never as productive as he was with Warner as his quarterback. This was a tandem that could stretch the defense at any time, and some believe that the three-year run of that St. Louis offense may be the most prolific in NFL history.
Holt is likely to join Faulk, Warner, and Bruce in the Hall of Fame, likely getting his nod in 2022, which would be his rightful spot as an immortal in NFL history.
