30 Best NFL QB-WR duos in the modern era

No. 29: Jeff Garcia and Terrell Owens

One of the more interesting QB-WR duos in NFL history was the combination of Terrell Owens and Jeff Garcia with the San Francisco 49ers. Known for explosive play on the field, and a terrible relationship off of it, this was an unlikely combo that absolutely shredded NFL defenses for five seasons in the Bay Area.

Throughout those five seasons, Owens and Garcia appeared in 69 games together, and incredibly, connected on 50 touchdown passes. Both underdog stories, Garcia coming from the CFL, and Owens from a small college, connected on the field in a way that refreshed the San Francisco franchise after the retirement of Steve Young.

Not only did they put up numbers together, but they also earned many honors, including going to the Pro Bowl together in three straight seasons. Their play helped the 49ers back to being a playoff team, getting to the postseason in both 2001 and 2002, reestablishing San Francisco as one of the better teams in the NFC.

Though their relationship soured when Owens left the franchise, Garcia showed his support for T.O. when he was up for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
