30 Best NFL QB-WR duos in the modern era

No. 28: Warren Moon and Chris Carter

Warren Moon was one of the more prolific quarterbacks in NFL history, and the craziest part of that statement is the fact that there was little interest in him coming out of college. Instead, he had to go up north to Canada and dominate there, before becoming one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL with the Houston Oilers.

After his run in Houston, one that saw him light up NFL defenses, he was traded to the Minnesota Vikings, and it was there that he would play with Chris Carter. A solid wide receiver for the Vikings, Carter became a superstar with Moon as his quarterback, putting together the best two-year run we have ever seen from a wideout.

During the 1994 and 1995 NFL seasons, Carter hauled in 122 passes in each campaign, while also going for over 2,500 receiving yards. After a seven-touchdown season in 1994, he set a career-high with 17 touchdowns in 1995, and while they would play in only eight games the following season due to an injury to Moon, the damage had already been done.

Sure, it was only 2.5 seasons of football, but you have to think that if these two played together their entire careers, they would be a top-5 duo on this list.
