Scouting Report. Harold Perkins. 817. Pick Analysis. LB. Cy Park (Cypress, TX). 1. player

Harold Perkins could be the crown jewel of the 2022 LSU recruiting class

It may take a Hail Mary or two to get Harold Perkins to be calling Baton Rouge, but the No. 8 player in the country remains uncommitted and has the Bayou Bengals as one of three teams he could conceivably commit to. As with Mathews, Perkins has it done to Florida, LSU and Texas A&M. While he is infinitely more likely to go to Florida or Texas A&M, LSU has a puncher’s chance.

Perkins had been committed to Texas A&M for nearly a month at the start of the year. He only very recently decommited from the Aggies. He took an official visit to Florida on Jan. 14 before decommitting from Texas A&M on Jan. 24. Perkins took an official visit most recently on Jan. 28. Florida may be a relatively new entrant in his recruitment, but LSU has been there for a minute.

Given the amount of times the five-star linebacker visited College Station, officially and unofficially, there is a chance he re-commits to Texas A&M on National Signing Day. Florida may come out of nowhere to grab him last minute. As for LSU, Kelly can potentially bide for his time to strike after hiding in the tall grass. Perkins’ commitment could be coming down to the wire.

Texas A&M still arguably has the edge for him, but Florida and LSU are making late pushes as well.
