NBA names contestants for 2022 Slam Dunk Contest
The NBA is setting the stage for All-Star Weekend 2022 in Cleveland and now we know who will be competing in the Slam Dunk Contest.
NBA All-Star Weekend 2022 is slated to take over Cleveland on Feb. 18-20 as the players around the league get a bit of rest and fun in their lives in the middle of the season. But fans, for the most part, tend to look the most forward to the Slam Dunk Contest.
It’s hard to blame them considering that, not only is it always fun to watch NBA players fly in a seemingly superhuman manner to the rim, but also because you get to see the creativity of these players on display in tandem with their athelticism.
And now we seem to know who will be competing in the 2022 NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
NBA Slam Dunk Contest: Who is participating?
As reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic, the contestants for the 2022 Slam Dunk Contest will be Knicks big man Obi Toppin, Rockets rookie guard Jalen Green, Magic guard Cole Anthony, and Warriors high-flyer Juan Toscano-Anderson.
We’ve seen some aerial jaw-droppers from all four of these players throughout this season already. To put it simply, there is a lot of potential with this quartet competing for some fireworks in Cleveland.
The dunk contest is often one of the most exciting parts of All-Star Weekend. The key for the league is just to get the right guys in the mix so to avoid delivering a letdown. With Toppin, Green, Anthony and Toscano-Anderson, it feels like they’ve done that. Let’s hope the end result delivers on the promise.
