National Signing Day has come and gone for us and we are looking at the final college football recruiting rankings with the top 25 classes in the country.

The excitement around National Signing Day has somewhat died down from what it used to be with the implementation of the early signing period. With that said, though, there was quite of a bit of college football recruiting movement throughout the country going on throughout Wednesday.

Recruiting is an inexact science but the class rankings as a whole are quite indicative of the success of a program. While a team may miss on a 5-star or 4-star recruit, if there are more drops in the barrel for that type of prospect than a program’s peers, that gives that team more chances to hit a home run with a player.

With that in mind, now that National Signing Day has subsided, let’s take a look at the top 25 classes in the country.

College football recruiting rankings: Top 25 classes for 2022

  1. Texas A&M Aggies
  2. Alabama Crimson Tide
  3. Georgia Bulldogs
  4. Ohio State Buckeyes
  5. Texas Longhorns
  6. Penn State Nittany Lions

  25. South Carolina Gamecocks

What Jimbo Fisher has done with this year’s recruiting class is absolutely absurd. With seven 5-stars and 18 additional 4-star recruits, Texas A&M has the most (or tied for the most) in both of those categories in the entire country.

After that, we have the usual suspects with Alabama and Georgia, but it’s also impressive to see Texas crack to the top five under Steve Sarkisian, which could bode well for the Longhorns. And a big surprise is North Carolina with the best class in the ACC.

Of course, college football recruiting rankings are the long game and we’ll need to see how these classes turn out and which teams can be like the Crimson Tide and Bulldogs, meaning programs that sustain this year over year.
