The Michigan football program got some great news as Jim Harbaugh will be back in Ann Arbor for another season despite interviewing with Minnesota Vikings.
Even though the Minnesota Vikings were interested in Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan football coach seemed interested in heading back to the NFL, it appears as if Harbaugh will be in Ann Arbor for a little while longer.
According to a tweet from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Harbaugh got in touch with Michigan to inform the Wolverines that he’d be sticking around for a little while longer. Harbaugh will be around in Ann Arbor for at least one more season as he made the decision to remain as a college football coach, according to Schefer.
Jim Harbaugh called Michigan to inform the school that, despite interviewing with the Vikings today, he will be returning to school for the 2022 season, sources tell ESPN. Michigan was, in the words of one source, “elated” to get Harbaugh’s decision.

In a second tweet, Schefter reported that Harbaugh did not intend for these NFL job search shenanigans to be something that happens frequently. Schefter mentioned that Harbaugh plans on sticking around as long as the Wolverines will have him.
Jim Harbaugh told Warde Manuel that this would not be a re-occurring issue and he would stay at Michigan as long as it wants him, per sources. https://t.co/d3NVS4EdLl

Michigan, of course, is elated. And it certainly looks like Michigan football fans are happy as well.
Michigan football: Jim Harbaugh to stay in Ann Arbor despite interview with Minnesota Vikings
Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh will return to U-M next season. I'm not sure what happened or why it didn't play out as expected, but this is great news for the program.

Just a few minutes ago Jim Harbaugh telling the Michigan Football team he's coming back to coach next season.

ITS HAPPENING!
LETS GO!!!! #GoBlue #harbaugh pic.twitter.com/KApWIihpyr
I haven’t said anything about this on Twitter because I firmly believed that Jim Harbaugh was too neurotic and insane to go back to the NFL, he needs us, we fuel him

The folks in Michigan sure do like celebrating their Michigan Man making the choice of being in Ann Arbor over leaving for Minnesota.
I won’t hold a grudge against anyone that made fun of me for believing Harbaugh was staying!!! Go Blue! We got our Michigan man back!

Harbaugh and the Wolverines are coming off of a monumental season. Michigan made the College Football Playoff, won the Big Ten, beat Ohio State, and outside of a loss to the Michigan State Spartans, looked really good all season long. There are a lot of pieces leaving Ann Arbor, but Harbaugh isn’t one of them.
