New York Jets Mock Draft – Fourth Round

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 107. player. 30. RB. Georgia. James Cook

The Jets spent a fourth-round pick in the backfield last year to great success with Michael Carter and follow the same formula here with Georgia’s James Cook. The younger brother of Vikings’ star Dalvin Cook has all the traits necessary to make him an ideal complement to Carter in the Jets’ backfield for years to come.

Cook could immediately find work as the Jets’ third-down back due to his pass catching ability, work that largely went to veteran Tevin Coleman and Ty Johnson last season. Good workouts could push Cook higher than this range but if he makes it to this pick it’s a steal for New York.

Central Michigan. 113. Bernhard Raimann. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. OT. 30

Investing multiple draft picks in the offensive line is always a good decision and Douglas picks up another tackle in Raimann, a 6-foot-7 goliath from Central Michigan. Questions about the level of competition Raimann faced in the MAC will likely knock him to Day 3, offering good value to a team willing to work on developing Raimann.

Raimann does have elite athleticism for his size, making him a good match for New York’s zone blocking scheme. The Jets’ depth at tackle would allow them to work with Raimann now with an eye towards him assuming a starting role at guard, where he would be a better fit in the long term, by 2023.
