Joe Burrow explains favorite part about playing quarterback

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow explains his favorite part of playing the position.
With Super Bowl 56 rapidly approaching, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is glad he listened to his coach’s advice back in the day, as he wanted him to play quarterback.
Burrow initially wanted to play running back or receiver as a youth because that meant he would have the ball in his hands more. Young kids and their motor skills, so we know how that goes. As it turns out, the sport Burrow loves to play has become increasingly passing centric, meaning the ball is in his hands all the time. This is why he loves playing the position of quarterback so much.
“I think my favorite part about playing quarterback, there’s great players at every position in the NFL, but I think only a few really affect the game in a drastic way,” said Burrow to Aditi Kinkhabwala of the NFL Network.
“I think quarterback is the one position on the field that can really affect the game on every single play. I like having the ball in my hands every play and being able to win or lose with me.”
Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow says why he loves playing quarterback so much
This is a similar reason why people like to be on the mound on a baseball diamond or running the point on the hardwood. There comes a great responsibility with having the ball in one’s hands seemingly every play. When it goes well, the praise will be heaped upon you. Should you fail, you have to take blame, even if it was really your teammates you let you down in the end. This is life.
Over the last three seasons, Burrow has set the football world on fire, college and pro, with his elite passing abilities. He won a national championship and a Heisman Trophy quarterbacking the 2019 LSU Tigers. Two years later, the 2020 No. 1 overall pick has the Bengals playing in their third Super Bowl and very much in the mix to hoist their first Lombardi Trophy in franchise history.
Burrow is a prime example of why you need to listen to your coaches if you want to be successful.
