Dolphins fans excited for Mike McDaniel to guide Tua Tagovailoa forward
The Miami Dolphins are hiring former 49ers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel and fans had some good feelings about what he could bring.
The Miami Dolphins firing head coach Brian Flores has undoubtedly brought about much more league-wide than just a coaching search for the franchise. That too, however, has been ongoing as the organization looked for the right guy to lead Tua Tagovailoa and this offense into the future.
Now, it seems they have found their guy.
After interviews with 49ers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel and Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore this week, the former was the choice for the job. Initial reports came out that was the case on Sunday and were then confirmed by Miami on social media.
Thus, Mike McDaniel is the next head coach of the Miami Dolphins.
Dolphins hire Mike McDaniel as head coach: Fans react
As is often the case on social media, there wasn’t necessarily a universal reaction to the news. All told, though, the reaction seemed to generally be optimistic and positive about what McDaniel means for the Dolphins.
There are some people in both the NFL and college media that will give every head coaching hire a “C+” because it looks good but no one totally knows how these things are going to work out when you get down to brass tacks.
McDaniel’s background and work with Kyle Shanahan and, on the field, Deebo Samuel should be reason for Miami fans to get excited about the future. This is a proven offensive mind who has been around people of that same ilk. Working with this talented Dolphins group has the potential to yield special results.
