Super Bowl 56 odds and preview: 5 best bets
By John Buhler
2. Will last play of game be a quarterback rush?: Yes -180
Let’s be real. We are due for one of these. While Super Wild Card Weekend pretty much was the antithesis of its name, NFL fans have been so very lucky to have had all four games in the divisional round and the two conference championship games go down to the wire. While it does not guarantee Super Bowl 56 between the Bengals and Rams will be a blowout, it will be decided.
In short, we probably are not getting a game that is going to overtime, nor are we getting a game that will be decided on a game-winning field goal. The only way this does not work out with the last play of the game not being a quarterback rush is if a pass is completed in bounds by the losing team or it is thrown out of bounds for some strange reason. Victory formation comes in at -180.
Again, you are probably not making a ton of money on this play, but we are due for a stinker of a football game, unfortunately. If the loser turns it over on downs inside of two minutes left, either Stafford or Burrow will line up in victory formation, knowing their legacies have forever changed as first-time Super Bowl champions. If you are not actively rooting for chaos, this is the bet to make.
Though the outcome of every game is completely independent, we are due for victory formation.
