There is zero chance Kevin Huber agrees to play for anybody else after this year

Bengals punter Kevin Huber is a Cincinnati man through and through. He was born in the Queen City on July 16, 1985. Huber played his college ball down the road with the Cincinnati Bearcats. He was drafted in the fifth round by the Bengals in the 2009 NFL Draft and has been in tiger stripes ever since. At 36 years old and an impending free agent, it is Bengals Super Bowl or bust for him.

Yes, the Bengals may bring back Huber on a series of one-year contracts until he decides to hang up the spikes. However, there are no guarantees they will be back in the Super Bowl before he decides to call it a career. The last time Cincinnati got this far on the football field, Huber was three years old. If they go on to win the Super Bowl, he might just call it a career right then and there.

In his 13-year NFL career, Huber has missed two games for his hometown team. He made the Pro Bowl back in 2014 and has been a part of nearly half of the franchise’s playoff berths since his rookie season out of UC. If anybody deserves to hoist the Lombardi Trophy on this team, it has to be their long-tenured punter. For a hometown kid to do the improbable, that would be special.

Cincinnati may be a young team, but Huber has been there through the good, the bad and the ugly.
