Former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Caleb Williams let the fans in Norman know he’ll always have love for them.Ā

It took longer than expected, but Caleb Williams eventually joined the USC Trojans after deciding to leave Oklahoma. From the moment Williams took to Twitter to let fans know he was heading out of town, there was plenty of heartbreak.

Williams is being reunited with former head coach Lincoln Riley at USC, but that doesn’t mean he’s forgetting about what his time at Oklahoma meant to him.

Appearing on Good Morning America, Williams said he has a special place in his heart for Oklahoma.

Signal-caller Caleb Williams will never forget the support he received while at Oklahoma

A 5-star signee for Oklahoma’s 2021 class, Williams took the job from fellow former Sooner Spencer Rattler, who is now at South Carolina. Williams recorded a freshman campaign to remember, throwing for 1,912 yards and 21 touchdowns.

From the moment Williams got his first taste of action at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, the home fans showered him with support. Things only got bigger and better for the signal-caller as the season progressed.

Williams ultimately decided that playing at USC and keeping things going with Riley will best prepare him for the NFL down the road.

It was a painful loss for Oklahoma fans to not just lose Riley but see Williams follow him out of Norman. Despite the love lost from Oklahoma fans, Williams still has plenty of fans in the area who will cheer him on.
