Giambi spent six seasons at the Major League level. After being drafted by and spending a couple of seasons with the Kansas City Royals, Giambi ended up landing with the Oakland Athletics, where he played from 2000 to midway through the 2002 season, when he was traded to the Phillies.
Giambi wrapped up 2002 with the Phillies and then ended up with the Red Sox in 2003.
Giambi did end up signing minor league deals with both the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox for 2004 and 2005 respectively, but he never made it back to the MLB level with either club.
Prior to making it to professional baseball, Giambi played at the college level for the Cal State Fullerton Titans. While playing for the Titans, Giambi helped Cal State Fullerton win a College World Series in 1995.
