Round 2: Dylan Parham

The Bengals’ offense can also be strengthened by adding offensive line talent capable of opening up bigger holes for Joe Mixon and the run game. That’s why nabbing a physical guard like Parham in Round 2 could make a lot of sense for Cincinnati.

Parham played both guard and tackle on the right side during his collegiate career at Memphis, but his professional future lies on the inside. He’s not a classic power guy on the interior, but he is strong and understands how to use leverage to his advantage.

It’s worth noting that the Bengals still have hopes that last year’s second-round selection, Jackson Carman can step in and take over the right guard position for his own next year. Selecting Parham might seem like duplication, but Cincinnati can’t afford to sit around and hope for Carman to be the answer. Ending up with two young, right guards capable of being quality starters is a problem the Bengals would love to have.

This is another spot in the draft where the Bengals might be tempted to take a bigger swing in terms of upside. If they play it safe in Round 1 that might happen in Round 2. Parham is a guy Cincy fans should keep a close eye on heading into the draft no matter what.
