Six teams inside the AP Top 10 lost last week, leading to a big shakeup in the college basketball rankings ahead of Week 15.

We are less than a month away from Selection Sunday and there is still a lot of uncertainty in the world of college basketball. Mid-February is usually a time where the nation’s best teams begin to assert themselves, yet last week saw six teams inside the AP Top 10 lose games.

The biggest beneficiary is Gonzaga, which will be No. 1 in this week’s polls and looks like a heavy favorite to win their first national championship. We’ll get to who falls behind the Bulldogs in this week’s college basketball rankings in just a bit, but first, we’ll take a look at the five teams that just missed the cut.

Week 15 College Basketball Rankings: Honorable Mentions

UCLA, Texas Tech, Villanova, Wisconsin, Murray State

The Bruins and Red Raiders were both ranked inside last week’s Top 10 but fell out after losses. The trend is troubling for UCLA, which has dropped three of four games to cede control of the Pac-12 to Arizona.

Villanova and Wisconsin both maintained their positions, the latter in spite of a home loss to Rutgers over the weekend. Be sure to extend a warm welcome to Murray State, which cracked the AP poll for the first time last week and has won 14 straight games in a strong OVC to raise eyebrows around the country.
