Round 3: Boye Mafe

The Broncos would like to find a way to bring Von Miller back into the fold via free agency, but they need to bolster their pass rush even if they can bring the veteran back on a reasonable deal. Mafe isn’t the finished product as a prospect, but his quickness and hot-running motor should overcome his questionable technique.

Denver shouldn’t expect Mafe to play as a three-down edge guy right away, but he should be able to handle being a pass-rush specialist in his first season as a pro. That’s good value in Round 3 for a team looking to bolster their defense.

Round 3: Kellen Diesch

Diesch doesn’t possess the length teams covet at the tackle position, but he’s got the quickness and agility to make up for that deficiency. At the very least, he profiles as an above-average swing tackle early in his professional career.

The Broncos can understand that a third tackle is a need rather than a luxury in the modern NFL. Diesch may need a few weeks to adjust to the speed of the pro game, but he’s a quality developmental option to help fortify Denver’s offensive line.
