2022 NFL Draft: Indianapolis Colts 7-round mock
Round 4: Jaivon Heiligh
It’s easy to envision a scenario where the Colts look for a potential replacement for T.Y. Hilton earlier in the draft. It’s more likely that Indianapolis looks for an underrated prospect after spending a second-rounder on Michael Pittman last season though.
Heiligh lacks the explosive athleticism or size required to be a No. 1 wideout at the next level, but he has everything required to slot in behind Pittman as the Colts’ No. 2 option. The former Coastal Carolina standout is a natural pass-catcher who flashed good route-running ability for the Chanticleers.
He’s a guy who just needs to polish every aspect of his game up a little bit before he’s ready to make plays for an NFL franchise. If he can make the jump from good to great in terms of route-running it might really help him become a steal in the fourth round.
The Colts can nab Heiligh with the idea that he can help them from the slot and the outside receiver spot as a rookie. There are bigger lottery tickets projected to be available in Round 4, but Heiligh gives Indianapolis a nice combination of high floor and reasonably high ceiling to work with.
