2022 NFL Draft: Jacksonville Jaguars 7-round mock
Round 3: Jalen Tolbert
D.J. Chark’s upcoming free agency leaves the Jaguars short on receivers who can threaten opposing secondaries on deep routes. That’s why adding a tall, speedy guy like Tolbert makes a lot of sense for Jacksonville in the middle rounds.
The former South Alabama star needs a lot of route-running work to succeed at the next level, but you can’t coach up his combination of size and speed. It might take him a few weeks to adjust to life in the NFL, but he’s got major upside playing with a quarterback with Lawrence’s elite arm strength.
Round 3: Channing Tindall
Tindall was justifiably overshadowed by Nakobe Dean in Georgia’s linebacking corps, but he’s a very intriguing pro prospect nonetheless. He’s got excellent speed for the position and plays with surprising force at the point of attack.
At the very least, Tindall can compete for the starting middle linebacker spot in Jacksonville’s defense next season. At worst, he’ll give the Jags a quality backup they can use to keep their top guys fresh during his rookie campaign.
